Palworld

Palworld Beginner Guide

Palworld left Early Access on July 10, 2026 with version 1.0 — a full release that reworks story missions, tower bosses, breeding, and endgame regions. Whether you are brand new or returning after two years away, this page is your first-week hub: a sensible path through the opening days without repeating every deep guide on the site.

Follow the steps below in order, then branch into the linked walkthroughs when you hit a wall. You do not need to rush the World Tree; most new players should treat week one as learning controls, building a base, and clearing the first towers.

Recommended First-Week Path

  1. Controls + first catches — Read our PC keyboard controls, then follow how to catch Pals.
  2. Base building basics — Place a Palbox, assign workers, unlock feeders. See the base building guide.
  3. Breeding basics — Build a Breeding Farm when Technology allows via the breeding guide.
  4. Fresh Start decision — Compare options in the Fresh Start guide.
  5. Tower progression — Clear Syndicate towers with the tower bosses guide, then Sakurajima and Feybreak before Sunreach. Check the combat tier list.
  6. World Tree timing — Treat the World Tree as endgame and follow the Level 80 guide first.
  7. Stay on the latest patch — Verify patch 1.101.103. If mods break launch, see launch troubleshooting.

After Week One

Once your base runs itself and early towers fall, switch to the complete walkthrough for region-by-region progression.

Palworld Online (Mobile)

On August 3, 2026, Garena announced Palworld Online — a licensed mobile MMO separate from the PC and console 1.0 client. You do not need it to play on Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, or Mac.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where should I start as a new Palworld 1.0 player?

Learn controls and catch your first Pals on day one. By mid-week, set up a small automated base and unlock basic breeding. Use this hub to jump into our dedicated guides instead of trying to learn everything at once.

Should I continue my Early Access save or start fresh?

Both work. Pocketpair recommends a fresh save for the reworked story and pacing, but existing worlds carry over safely. Read our Fresh Start guide before you decide — it covers pros, cons, and backup tips.

What should I focus on in my first week?

Controls, catching, base automation basics, and a simple breeding setup. Clear Syndicate towers in order, then push toward Sakurajima and Feybreak before Sunreach. Save the World Tree for when you are level 50+ with solid gear.

When should I attempt the World Tree?

Not in week one. Finish tower bosses, reach Sunreach, and follow our Level 80 guide before endgame. Rushing the World Tree undergeared leads to wipes and, on older patches, infinite loading bugs fixed in 1.101.103.

Do I need patch 1.101.103 installed?

Yes. After the July 10, 2026 1.0 launch, install through 1.101.103 (July 30–31, 2026) for World Tree stability and mod compatibility. PC mod users should also check launch troubleshooting if the game will not start.

Is Palworld Online required for PC or console players?

No. Palworld Online is a separate Garena mobile MMO announced August 3, 2026. It shares the IP but is not connected to the PC, Xbox, PlayStation, or Mac 1.0 client.
