Oil Rig Guide

Rayne Syndicate Oil Rigs are fortified offshore strongholds packed with laser turrets, gun nests, and high-level Syndicate troops. Version 1.0 still treats Oil Rig Greater Chests as a prime farm for Ancient Civilization Cores, Crude Oil, and legendary schematics. This guide covers safe sea approaches, turret disable consoles, chest spawn logic, and how Oil Rig loops feed your Ancient Civilization crafting pipeline.

Oil Rig Locations

Fast travel to Marsh Island, then look southeast toward the open water platform near 580, -430 for the Level 55 Oil Rig. The harder Platform Oil Rig (Level 60+) and smaller Barge Oil Rig sit on other offshore coordinates — all share anti-air lasers and Greater Chest rewards scaled to difficulty.

Never Fly Straight In

Homing anti-air laser turrets delete flying mounts mid-approach. Mount a swimming Pal (Jormuntide, Azurobe) or hug the waterline with a low glide. Once on deck, sprint to turret consoles and disable artilleries before the full Syndicate alarm floods the platform.

Clearing the Deck

Bring rocket or missile launchers for AoE clears, heat-resistant armor, and a condensed combat team. Knock enemies over railings when possible — overboard kills still count. Prioritize gunners on elevated walkways that chip you during chest fights.

Greater Chest and Resets

One golden Greater Chest spawns in one of several fixed spots each cycle. Loot it for Crude Oil, Ancient Civilization Cores (about 90–93% for 1–5 on the Lv55 rig), ammo, and rare Legendary schematics. After looting, leave the area; chests and turrets refresh in roughly 30 real-time minutes. Chain Oil Rig runs with Hard Expeditions while you wait.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the Oil Rig in Palworld?

The Rayne Syndicate Oil Rig sits southeast of Marsh Island around coordinates 580, -430. Use the Marsh Island fast travel statue, then approach by sea. A harder Platform Oil Rig (Lv60+) and Barge Oil Rig also exist offshore.

Why do flying mounts die approaching the Oil Rig?

Anti-air laser turrets track and shred flying Pals before you reach the deck. Approach on a swimming mount such as Jormuntide or Azurobe, or glide very low over the water so lasers do not lock on.

What loot does the Oil Rig Greater Chest give?

The golden Greater Chest rolls Crude Oil, Ancient Civilization Cores (roughly 90–93% chance for 1–5 cores), ammo stacks, and a small chance at Legendary weapon schematics. Only one Greater Chest spawns per reset.

How often does the Oil Rig reset?

After you loot the Greater Chest, chests and gun turrets respawn about 30 minutes later in real time on the Lv55 Oil Rig. Clear distance so enemy packs can refresh between runs.

What level should I be for the Oil Rig?

Aim for Level 50+ with Pal Metal or Hexolite-tier weapons and heat/cold-resistant armor. The Platform Oil Rig expects Level 60+ gear and denser Syndicate packs.

How do Ancient Civilization Cores relate to Oil Rigs?

Oil Rig Greater Chests are one of the few non-raid sources of purple Ancient Civilization Cores. Pair Oil Rig loops with raid bosses and Hard Expeditions — see the Ancient Civilization guide for Parts vs Cores.
