Paint Mode & Building Guide

Paint Mode and the 48 new building parts from Home Sweet Home transformed Palworld base aesthetics long before offshore megabases arrived in 1.0. This guide explains how to paint structures, use triangular pieces, and navigate the list-based Build Menu in the current 1.0.1 client.

Paint Mode Basics

  1. Open the Build Menu (B by default on PC)
  2. Switch to Paint Mode from the mode selector
  3. Aim at a paintable foundation, wall, or roof segment
  4. Pick a palette swatch and apply — repeat for trim accents

Paint is cosmetic only. It does not change defense stats or raid vulnerability, but it helps mark storage zones, factory floors, and automation lanes.

Triangular Pieces

Triangular floors and roofs enable hexagonal towers, bay windows, and ship-style offshore decks. Snap them to existing grids, then paint contrasting edges to highlight silhouette — especially on Sunreach floating platforms.

Build Menu QoL

The list UI sorts parts by category with text search. Pin frequently used scaffolding, roofs, and decorative items to speed rebuilds after raid waves or Hartalis practice runs.
